The Arbors at Baltimore Crossroads captures two awards at Delta Associates

The Arbors at Baltimore Crossroads, a 365-unit luxury market-rate rental home community near White Marsh, Maryland, captured two awards at the 16th annual Delta Associates Awards of Excellence competition for apartment home and condominium projects situated in the Mid-Atlantic region. Contained within the 1,000-acre Baltimore Crossroads @95 mixed-use development in Baltimore County, the community features an array of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) elements. Developed by Somerset Construction Company, the apartment home community was delivered in November 2011.

The Arbors at Baltimore Crossroads was honored for Best 2012 Baltimore-area Apartment Community; as well as 2012 Best Lease-Up Pace for a Baltimore-area Apartment Community.

The Arbors at Baltimore Crossroads was designed in a "Texas Doughnut" configuration, which consists of apartment homes built around a six-story parking garage. This allows a resident to park and live on the same level of the building. Approximately twenty-three different apartment designs are available in single, two, and three-bedroom formats ranging from 510 to 1,565 square feet of space.

LEED elements integrated into the community include energy-efficient heating, ventilating and air-conditioning and hot water systems; low-flow plumbing fixtures; 70% powered by wind and solar energy with 360 solar panels on the garage roof; Energy Star appliances that significantly reduce monthly water, gas and electric usage, and air filtration systems. A 1,900 square foot, two-story community room containing a state-of-the-art fitness center, multi-media center, individual storage units, and saltwater swimming pool was constructed within the community.

In addition, the average monthly utility cost for each residential unit is approximately $90, which is less than one-half the cost of the industry norm for an apartment in the greater Baltimore region.
