CDS Logistics Management Inc. plans to relocate its Halethorpe distribution center to Baltimore Crossroads@95 in White Marsh, becoming the fifth corporate headquarters to move to the eastern Baltimore County business park.
The company has signed a 10-year lease with First Industrial Realty Trust for 110,000 square feet at 1225 Bengies Road, said NAI KLNB broker Bill Miller, who represented CDS in its lease. The company will move in May from larger space of about 125,000 square feet at 4501 Hollins Ferry Road.
Representatives from CDS could not be immediately reached for comment.
CDS Logistics, founded in the late 1980s as Computer Distribution Services Inc., retained NAI KLNB about eight months ago to help it find smaller space in the county, Miller said in a telephone interview.
First Industrial constructed the 300,000-square-foot building in 2007 and was seeking between $4.95 and $5.35 per square foot for the space, according to CB Richard Ellis Inc. Miller declined to say how much CDS Logistics is leasing the space for but he said it was a competitive rental rate.
CB Richard Ellis broker Bill Pellington, who represented First Industrial in the lease, could not be immediately reached for comment.
Baltimore Crossroads is a planned 1,100-acre business park adjacent to Maryland Route 43. In October, Social Solutions Inc. opened its new 17,915-square-foot headquarters there, becoming the fourth company to plant its corporate flag there. Other headquarters include Pevco, BGE Home, and Danfoss Inc.
The business park is being developed by a team of companies including First Industrial, Somerset Construction Co., St. John Properties Inc. and Chesapeake Real Estate Group LLC.
