Potomac Pizza Grill opening in White Marsh

February 10, 2020  •  source

A family-owned, New York-style pizza restaurant chain with four locations near Washington, D.C., will enter the Baltimore market this spring as a tenant of Baltimore Crossroads, a development in White Marsh.

Potomac Pizza will open its fifth restaurant at Greenleigh at Crossroads, the retail portion of the Baltimore Crossroads mixed-use development, marking its first location in the Baltimore region. The restaurant chain will also add “grill” to the end of its name for this location, hinting at expanded food offerings beyond pizza.

Potomac Pizza Grill will offer 13 different types of New York-style pizza, from cheese-less to white pizza topped with fontina cheese to the restaurant’s classic cheese pizza recipe. The new location will also feature subs, wraps, club sandwiches, chicken tenders, calzones, salads, Buffalo wings and cheese fries.

Owner Adam Greenberg founded Potomac Pizza in 1978 at its original restaurant in Potomac. Since then, Greenberg has established three other locations in Chevy Chase, Rockville and College Park.

In addition to that, he’s opened two Bagels ‘n Grinds bagel/coffee shops and a sit-down restaurant College Park Grill.

The restaurant will be part of the 1,000-acre Baltimore Crossroads project being jointly developed by St. John Properties and Somerset Construction Company.

Greenleigh at Crossroads will include 550 acres of mixed-use development, including approximately 90,000 square feet of retail space to serve the development’s 1,900 residential units and the surrounding community, according to the press release from St. John Properties.

Other restaurants and retailers already open at Greenleigh at Crossroads include Michael’s Cafe Raw Bar and Grill, Dunkin’ Donuts, Royal Farms, Subway, Thai Rainbow, Crossroads Wine & Spirits and others. The development will also include the 120-key White Marsh Marriott Springhill Suites hotel, according to the press release.

Greenberg said in that press release that he decided to establish the Potomac Pizza Grill based on the expected influx of new residents to Greenleigh at Crossroads and the current flow of people working in the area.

“With the number of new homes recently added for the future at Greenleigh at Crossroads combined with the daytime captured audience of business people working in the community, we envision outstanding growth potential and seized the opportunity to start our Baltimore County expansion program from this location,” he said.

Potomac Pizza Grill will cover approximately 4,900 square feet of space at 750 Concourse Drive, including an outdoor patio area that will be able to seat about 20 patrons. The restaurant will employ about 30 full- and part-time workers, according to the press release.
